Closing the Distance Between Opportunity and Execution

I help organizations turn opportunity into growth by aligning capital, partnerships, people, and execution.

For more than twenty years, I have worked across investing, entrepreneurship, strategy, and operational leadership— deploying institutional capital, building new markets, launching companies, and scaling growth across Africa, Asia, and Latin America for US companies.

Approach

How I Build

Growth rarely stalls because opportunity is missing. More often, it stalls because execution is fragmented. My work focuses on identifying the opportunity, aligning the ecosystem, and building the capabilities that turn strategy into sustainable growth.

01 — Identify

Identify the Opportunity

Growth starts with understanding where opportunity exists — and what will be required to capture it. Throughout my career, I have evaluated markets, tested business models, assessed customer demand, developed investment theses, and helped organizations determine where to focus their time, capital, and resources.

02 — Align

Align the Ecosystem

The most attractive opportunities rarely succeed because of a single company acting alone. Investors, operators, partners, policymakers, customers, and institutions all influence outcomes. A significant part of my work involves bringing together the stakeholders required to move an opportunity forward.

03 — Build

Build for Scale

Growth becomes sustainable when it is supported by the right systems, operating models, and commercial infrastructure. From launching a fintech to building international growth channels across fifteen markets, I have spent much of my career helping organizations move from strategy to execution.

Work

Growth in Practice

01
Fintech

Building a Global Growth Engine for a U.S. Fintech

When I joined MPOWER Financing, partnerships represented less than 1% of revenue and there was no scalable framework for international growth.

I built the international partnerships function from the ground up — developing market-entry strategies, partner economics, channel infrastructure, and operating processes across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Over three years, the channel grew from less than 0.5% to approximately 20% of company revenue, generated more than $150 million in loan originations, and became one of the company's primary growth engines.

The work extended well beyond partnerships. Growth depended on translating local market realities into commercial decisions that could scale globally while aligning institutions, ecosystem partners, and stakeholders around a common growth strategy.

02
Entrepreneurship

Building a Student Finance Company

After years of investing and advising across emerging markets, I founded Student Finance Africa to address a financing gap I had observed firsthand.

The challenge was not simply building a lending product. It was creating a financing model that aligned students, universities, employers, and capital providers around a common outcome. Student demand was clear. The harder question was whether institutions and investors would support a new model at scale.

Backed by personal capital and development finance partners, I developed one of East Africa's first dedicated student finance platforms, validating strong demand and achieving approximately 85% repayment across its pilot portfolio.

The experience required wearing multiple hats simultaneously — investor, operator, fundraiser, and founder. It remains one of the most ambitious projects of my career.

03
Strategy

Shaping a $25 Billion Regional Infrastructure Strategy

While at Monitor Deloitte, I led development of a $25 billion regional transport corridor strategy for the Government of Kenya, examining how infrastructure investment could accelerate trade, investment, and economic growth across East Africa.

The work required engagement with government leaders, investors, development finance institutions, and private-sector stakeholders across multiple countries.

Following the project, I was invited to join the Government of Kenya delegation to the World Economic Forum, supporting discussions with global investors and development institutions around the region's growth agenda.

About

A Career Built Between Worlds

My interest in how markets work started long before my career did.

It began translating for my family on a trip to a border town in Mexico when I was in high school. It deepened through work in communities across Latin America and sharpened in Uganda, where I researched microfinance across East Africa.

Across each experience, I noticed the same pattern: opportunity looked very different from a distance than it did on the ground.

That observation shaped the direction of my career.

Over the past two decades, I have worked across investing, strategy, entrepreneurship, and operational leadership in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Across each role, the same question has remained:

How do we turn opportunity into outcomes?

Whether deploying capital, supporting entrepreneurs, expanding into new markets, or building strategic partnerships, my work has focused on helping organizations bridge the distance between potential and execution.

Before my professional career, I was an athlete. As a Division I field hockey player and Academic All-American at the University of Pennsylvania, I learned the discipline of pursuing ambitious goals, performing under pressure, and contributing to a team over the long term. Those lessons continue to shape how I lead, build, and evaluate opportunities today.
